SecureShare services and products are provided by Edge Software Inc.


Means any or all of the SecureShare Service & Product Portfolio depending which product and services you have chosen.


Means the Document and Data created, generated, communicated or stored through the use of the SecureShare Product Portfolio.

What we collect

Personal information you give us

When you register in order to use the Services, SecureShare will collect the personal information (PI) you provide us with including: your name, e-mail address and ZIP or postal code. For paid accounts, your address and payment information will be collected to process payments.

If you are a US resident, you undertake not to upload Protected Health Information (“PHI”) as defined under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability of 1996 Act as amended (“HIPAA”). SecureShare does not make any representations as to the compliance of the Service with such legislation.

Information automatically collected

Depending on the Services and products you have chosen, we may collect non personal information such as the type of device and browser you use, the websites you have visited before accessing the Services, your IP address, and your ISP.

In order to provide you the best experience possible and to facilitate and improve the use of our Services and Websites, we use cookies. This enables us to collect information about your interactions with our Services and therefore helps us offer a better product.

What we do with your information?

SecureShare processes and retains Information in order to operate, maintain and provide you with the Services, correspond with you and-Inform you of technical issues pertaining to the Services.

We undertake not to market your personal information. We may nevertheless also process and share anonymized information generated from PI in order to analyse the use of the Services and gather statistical data.

We will retain you PI for the duration of the Agreement or period during which we provide you with the Services and a reasonable period of timethereafter depending of the Services you have selected. After such period of time we shall delete your PI using commercially reasonable methods.

Who we share the information with

Access to your PI, your Documents and Data by our employees and partners is limited to those who need to be granted access in order for us to be able to provide you with the Services. Certain PI and Documents are disclosed to other users through your use of the Services.

We may need to occasionally share your PI with third parties for the following reasons:

  • To ensure the quality, fluidity and access to our Services;
  • To protect any person from death or serious bodily injury;
  • To prevent fraud or improper use of SecureShare Product Portfolio and other users.

We may also be obligated to disclose your PI if we are subjected to a Court or other form of judicial or government authority, order, judgement or ruling.

In the event we receive a court order, subpoena or other administrative demand for the communication of your PI, Documents or Data, we will, to the extent permitted by law, notify you forthwith. The Provider shall, to the extent permitted by law, verify the legality of the procedure for the issuance or obtaining of the order or demand, and shall either contest same or request the postponement of its execution, in order to allow the Client to review the substance of the order or demand and, if appropriate, to assert its rights. In the event we are unable to notify you of the order or demand in a timely manner, or cannot legally inform you thereof contemporaneously, we shall do so as soon as we are legally allowed to do so.

In all circumstances we undertake not to voluntarily allow interception, and not to voluntarily disclose/communicate your PI or documents in the absence of the appropriate order, warrant or subpoena, regardless of the possibility for the requesting party or any other interested party to grant the Provider legal immunity.

We shall assist you in contesting the order or demand and, if asked to do so, shall provide information concerning the services provided at your request.

We will not otherwise disclose your PI without obtaining consent from you.


The Services are not destined to individuals under the age of thirteen (13). We do not intend to collect or retain information about children.

Absence of consent and withdrawal

SecureShare is committed to provide you with a right to refuse or withdraw your consent to the processing and retention of the PI collected.

The right of opposition is defined as the possibility for you to refuse having your PI used for certain purposes mentioned in the process.

Security is a priority

The personal information we collect is kept in a secure and safe environment. People working for us or with us are required to respect the confidentiality of your information. We use appropriate security measures to maintain and protect the confidentiality, integrity and accessibility of your PI, Document and Data.

We are committed to maintain a high degree of confidentiality by integrating the latest technological innovations available. However, no method of transmission or storage over the Internet is 100 % secure. We cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Applicable law

This agreement and its performance are subject to the laws applicable in the
Province of Quebec, Canada.
